Dr. Nagisa Hiraoka
Senior Veterinarian & Herbal Medicine Practitioner
BVSc (Hons), GradDipVHM
The Integrative Difference Since graduating with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2009, Dr Nagisa Hiraoka has built a career defined by both clinical excellence and a deep-seated passion for whole-pet wellness. While an accomplished small animal vet with years of experience in the UK and Australia, it is Nagisa’s deeper knowledge in herbal medicine that allows her to offer this additional service. After completing a Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Herbal Medicine in 2017, she has been creating tailored, integrative treatment plans that bridge the gap between traditional Western medicine and clinical-grade natural therapies.
Clinical Experience
Nagisa joined the Dural Vet family in 2015 and remains a core part of our surgical and diagnostic team. She is particularly passionate about dermatology, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery, believing that a thorough clinical approach is the foundation for any successful recovery. Whether managing a complex skin allergy or performing intricate dental surgery, she focuses on the individual needs of the animal, ensuring that every treatment plan is as unique as the pet itself.
At Home in the Hills
For Nagisa, the true reward of veterinary medicine is the day-to-day connection with our local community. She believes that animals are often our greatest teachers, and she feels deeply privileged to support the people who love them. Nagisa lives locally in Glenorie with her husband and two young children. On her days off, you’ll find her exploring nature with her family and her beautiful elderly rescue cattle dog, Raine.
